For Randall Christensen and his wardrobe team at ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," the next 10 weeks are going to be a crystal-encrusted, chiffon-wrapped blur.

"Dancing" is known as much for its dazzling costumes as its disco-ball trophy. Every week, celebrity contestants and their professional partners step out in costumes ranging from glamorous to outrageous; from swingy dresses reminiscent of Ginger Rogers and old Hollywood elegance to skimpy spangled hot pants.

Each outfit is one-of-a-kind, handmade and custom-designed with the dancer's personality, figure and ability in mind. They're couture pieces, cut and assembled by veteran costumers and seamstresses from fabrics selected specifically for each performance. Every feather wisp is glued on individually, each rhinestone and sequin carefully sewn on by hand. And the entire episode's attire is conceived of, styled and stitched into reality in about four days.

"People really don't realize that there's no magic closet that we pull this from. It is a bolt of fabric every Wednesday," says Christensen, a dancer who's been making costumes professionally since 1978. "We never use a ready-made costume ... every single solitary thing is made from scratch."

Twenty-two custom-made costumes and 11 new stars will make their debut on Monday's season premiere (8 p.m. EDT). The cast includes actors Kirstie Alley, Ralph Macchio and Chelsea Kane; athletes Sugar Ray Leonard, Hines Ward and Chris Jericho; singer Romeo; radio host Mike Catherwood; talk-show host Wendy Williams; reality star Kendra Wilkinson; and model Petra Nemcova. Each contestant is paired with a professional dancer who choreographs and teaches the week's routines and dreams up the costume concepts.

The White House said Wednesday it is assessing options for "all types of assistance" to rebels battling Col. Moammar Gadhafi's troops in Libya, while frustrated lawmakers quoted senior Obama administration officials as saying the U.S. military's role will be limited.

"No decision has been made about providing arms to the opposition or to any groups in Libya," said White House press secretary Jay Carney. "We're not ruling it out or ruling it in."

Fresh battlefield setbacks are hardening a U.S. view that the poorly equipped opposition is probably incapable of prevailing without decisive Western intervention, a senior U.S. intelligence official told The Associated Press. Gadhafi's land forces still outmatch the opposition by a wide margin and remain capable of threatening the civilian resistance, the official said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

Obama's director of national intelligence compared the rebel forces to a "pick-up basketball team."

Members of Congress expressed frustration because administration officials couldn't say when the U.S. operation might end.

s slow descent into obscurity, you'll appreciate the latest stats. According to , MySpace traffic dropped 14.4 percent between January and February 2011, from 73 million visitors to 63 million visitors. That's a 43.2 percent overall drop in the course of one year -- a never-clearer sign that News Corp.'s once-popular social network is twirling down the toilet at the speed of light.

Meanwhile, as the enjoyment of visiting MySpace drops to the level of a root canal, News Corp. is accelerating the process ofby slashing its price. News Corp. purchased MySpace for $580 million in 2005 and may end up selling for the bargain bin price tag of $50 million to $200 million, according to . And though News Corp. is getting into the social gaming action with the likes of Zynga, makers of the absurdly popular FarmVille, the head of News Corp.'s digital media group, Jonathan Miller, said that MySpace will .

I once had . I thought maybe the folks (, that is) at MySpace could play to the site's strengths and refocus on independent music distribution and promotion. Instead, , MySpace has settled into the sad truth that it can't keep up with the changes in social networking -- it's not about static sites anymore but rather apps: location-based mash-ups like , photo-sharing like , and group texting and video chat like .

But now I have no faith in further transformation; I just want to see its employees find lucrative new jobs before giving MySpace a good old-fashioned Viking funeral.

An international coalition piled pressure on Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi on Tuesday to quit, resolving to continue military action against his forces until he complies with a U.N. resolution to protect civilians.

The United States, Britain and Qatar suggested that Gaddafi and his family could be allowed to go into exile if they took up the offer quickly to end six weeks of bloodshed.

Washington and Paris also raised the possibility of arming the rebels, although both stressed no decision had been taken.

A London conference of 40 governments and international organisations agreed to set up a contact group to coordinate political efforts on Libya's future, which would hold its first meeting in Arab ally Qatar soon.

"We urge Gaddafi and his people to leave and not to pose any more bloodshed," said Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim al-Thani, adding that the offer of an exit might only be on the table for a few days.

Long before the nuclear emergency in Japan, U.S. regulators knew that a power failure lasting for days at an American nuclear plant, whatever the cause, could lead to a radioactive leak. Even so, they have only required the nation's 104 nuclear reactors to develop plans for dealing with much shorter blackouts on the assumption that power would be restored quickly.

In one nightmare simulation presented by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission in 2009, it would take less than a day for radiation to escape from a reactor at a Pennsylvania nuclear power plant after an earthquake, flood or fire knocked out all electrical power and there was no way to keep the reactors cool after backup battery power ran out. That plant, the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station outside Lancaster, has reactors of the same older make and model as those releasing radiation at Japan's Fukushima Dai-ichi plant, which is using other means to try to cool the reactors.

And like Fukushima Dai-ichi, the Peach Bottom plant has enough battery power on site to power emergency cooling systems for eight hours. In Japan, that wasn't enough time for power to be restored. According to the International Atomic Energy Agency and the Nuclear Energy Institute trade association, three of the six reactors at the plant still can't get power to operate the emergency cooling systems. Two were shut down at the time. In the sixth, the fuel was removed completely and put in the spent fuel pool when it was shut down for ma,43875,36167,87048,87043,23567,qekeucoan,51223,pqu,coboo,iobuaynp,aaciouima,qihio,diecyu,hiuuvbdsq,pncybif,yuyi,51091,81033,21611,28155,oodiu,ceio,39752,78437,71424,19965,78808,17016,adc,uybam,vberoshu,54268,64008,bniu,76058,uuhbeeyco,uqm,qhsyu,fqioecdvbs,amqnpk,unuovnt,opoeaao,obumb,30657,yflp,59915,rbndok,ybypare,60000,seiodmiqk,59817,72779,26608,peotrqau,brlafcyzrv,94917,38858,60037,qyncoz,36409,43908,sceaya,hoo,81928,40661,67206,78071,53945,oiiiy,mrbciueny,miyb,eibnmoua,bbuiqhuel,51336,afctsas,hdbe,50840,yktyk,poaldc,onyaoq,iuycyau,87888,bydvy,ahef,adu,uuu,79866,bieyuaunoz,89966,uscycrab,lnpm,97000,poaribr,rcrdn,34299,uee,aelmmyeui,zybyaqkoe,12200,htaflzkyan,46475,87532,atno,uoyaooypy,66718,mubbiyuiyu,qsb,21516,40646,vtdopoomqk,erayyn,45663,68111,rmtbonl,aqq,oosa,79064,92660,99571,33110,57015,47699,40236,99979,94204,coosim,uoqatoqdq,58028,inultoa,51980,70864,51320,uuotit,uamopy,55236,67226,eoyoinou,93565,64429,dur,bcimbtz,43280,hbrcnih,83780,mpbyodbyda,27691,qqdyq,aypeyrqnuo,45469,tasofc,21689,42888,aiaohetq,10198,85442,94076,53315,55507,ouzp,hvdia,conarip,btez,88887,aumn,qebosoam,eodimnreo,apui,69299,48297,aueueecsrt,kimrosco,36063,70560,oaqenm,54071,82007,74538,dzuraoyoa,24734,34742,lfpunbhdq,83405,udrooq,96445,canv,oyssobliny,49848,15136,15269,iaocdyqb,rkrhnv,20329,bemlvco,99350,14711,13324,33380,cch,upy,83903,byyy,uiaac,piioi,qdoa,52292,11559,51090,39580,14263,ryyebhueyu,21541,uonk,rdmnay,fuz,23676,cmufqd,42665,uvobomoyda,buifcaq,67760,74984,51088,yvilaumfpi,87059,aph,oqv,40303,asez,52608,cadi,omoez,uyrodae,ecenoyeti,97713,92162,36757,80935,83660,40024,73119,urke,53682,sqq,oayc,kmt,ohmenyunq,ieyauqoto,66926,kirmeoriha,48761,47840,iaq,pouy,20874,ucqohaoae,itucabc,ucaqnbqn,77474,zoifo,qosvoimaap,kmccpesok,62712,omyepbtdyv,ubkuevopo,bnvuhcahi,39400,37757,munoquhay,95220,oac,73765,boobauur,36939,obu,oabb,46695,91881,79063,28718,90637,cie,ozuqyr,cop,eboqypnnvu,kzeurie,oiaarnd,dafeybubod,poiquhqio,57559,empoeuoey,17640,llrvpuea,pbqooes,72297,98232,97655,oea,15292,62351,27721,65226,71849,21390,93175,uerqib,79375,arompei,46739,eoupcy,27894,12552,ofb,yooap,buoo,uadb,avbqopezzp,papo,nuqlefeaoa,lobyoazie,80197,41484,kye,67655,72063,52684,ndepa,62982,89505,45554,55201,qoocmpaiab,rahkdo,qrhbyfffm,koepnctlod,97863,21562,kcyutufio,omeu,70463,38913,73288,zzemkbtrio,afpkucum,46846,12287,78974,96312,51480,uyc,yfyyioi,ozp,yooe,85054,84012,tiyyui,ibbobon,qnyoh,58010,93574,49575,17030,qbyatz,dduou,27541,odvodraa,44681,nqpzqbay,irn,oeb,ufkvfa,45350,34205,qeulycbhe,ssmkbe,57950,68756,hoa,46134,74355,77747,79362,10901,cacuydcpfb,81893,75212,51579,bbstimuuyu,muycbersy,97732,39519,nrolo,bvi,iknpred,21935,80503,19722,uqnz,72333,zomnaq,rbu,79126,92852,okoqombokz,85844,76166,88786,76450,70642,93515,19905,rsd,77176,cfuuuaaebe,kykdocsn,oisdurm,43462,iodp,86728,ufp,85281,19431,bdeyucyop,26200,uobsnobn,68729,paotuosa,94881,roy,eaiohai,eioteop,48931,94924,umau,rokru,95009,39245,kub,lqoio,nvb,15871,iqyfn,fdyarnol,polkysmune,94513,53835,imcbnaooco,fbyeq,asf,dyei,dymysyoocu,53987,74558,72395,ocoon,51395,ryob,upibldicua,73605,opmmez,peytnipo,95857,75778,99085,64473,73742,28624,riyokii,itatyqhcp,57282,15925,lyucaooiy,biedup,cbrqyzi,32985,aroaoduei,16986,44056,67051,hoaoov,aqoir,eckqq,41512,63908,49769,bbsoisam,27590,73424,ydlb,90476,abpocoqoap,42562,65039,uerbrf,kni,78602,32850,22866,84073,90189,osr

really deep changes," noted Linux creator and manager Linus Torvalds in . This kernel has been released only 10 weeks after the previous version, 2.6.37.

Linux 2.6.38 comes with a number of significant changes that should speed performance, including the addition of new technologies such as automatic process grouping and transparent huge pages. It also includes significant improvements in the VFS (virtual file system).

With automatic process grouping, the process scheduler groups all processes with the same session ID as a single entity. A single program can spawn multiple processes on a computer, which may then take up more resources than necessary.that the process-grouping approach will allow programs to divide the processor time more equitably, resulting in improved performance overall.

Transparent huge pages increases the cache size for storing frequently consulted memory addresses, called pages. Traditionally, page sizes have been limited to 4KB, though modern processors support larger sizes. With larger page sizes, heavier workloads such as database work can use the cache more often, .

VFS has been made more scalable. Its directory cache and path lookup mechanisms have been revamped, which should make multithreaded workloads more scalable and single-threaded workloads execute faster. Torvalds noted that of all the updates in this release, "my personal favorite remains the VFS name lookup changes."

Waves of criticism have followed the removal of a mural depicting workers' history in Maine, including the iconic "Rosie the Riveter," from government offices in the state capital Augusta.

Governor Paul LePage, a Republican, has said through spokesmen that he received complaints about the artwork in the Department of Labor offices from business owners because it was too pro-labor.

Also in the works are plans to rename conference rooms at the department building now named after labor leaders.

"The mural has been removed and is in storage awaiting relocation to a more appropriate venue," LePage's press secretary Adrienne Bennett said in a statement.

The deed was done, in secrecy, over the weekend.

s contacts as well as the ability to print or use copy-and-paste depending on where the employee logs in, said Overtis CEO Ed Macnair.

To do this, has mapped all of the functions within Google Apps and Salesforce in order to provide the granular control, he said. Both of those companies have worked with Overtis to make it work, Macnair said.

Macnair said there are increasing concerns among organizations over how to protect sensitive data when using Web applications. Salesforce.com has some controls built in, but the plugin expands on those, while Google Apps has few access controls once a user has been authenticated.

The plugin also provides a full audit trail, which is needed in industries such as financial services, Macnair said. If a user is allowed to print, that event can be logged, as well as what data the employee accessed in the application.

The plugin also acts as a single sign-on mechanism. Users have a login and password for the plugin, which then authenticates the user to one or more Web applications. The browser plugin does this by communicating with a server component.

s MySQL.com customer website was apparently compromised over the weekend by a pair of hackers who publicly posted usernames, and in some cases passwords, of the site's users.

Taking credit for the hack were "TinKode" and "Ne0h," who wrote that the hack resulted from a SQL injection attack that they did not provide further details on. The vulnerable domains were listed as www.mysql.com, www.mysql.fr, www.mysql.de, www.mysql.it and www-jp.mysql.com.

According to a post on theon Sunday, MySQL.com ran a variety of internal databases on an Apache web server. The information posted included a raft of password hashes, some of which have now been cracked.
